Quotations

What follows are a few random quotations, sayings, and observations of mine. If you've ever seen a similar [and most likely better] quotation somewhere, please let me know--things can creep into the subconscious unknowingly.

Think about what you're doing, not what's going to happen

--This is not my quotation, Geoff Rowley said it in a Vans advertisement in a 411 video. It is so poignant that I had to include it on this page.
I don't mind being stupid, as long as I'm stupid enough to believe I'm not

--Just pondering. It seems I tend to gravitate towards these types of thoughts for some reason.
Anyone who says you'll fail is afraid of your success; be sure to step on him as you climb to the top.

--In regards to starting a business.
You're only as smart as your dumbest moment.

--Self realization.
If you pretend long enough there comes a point when you're no longer pretending.

--Reflecting on my typical day at work.
Grr, I recently found the following similar [and better] quotation by Kurt Vonnegut in the introduction to his 1961 novel Mother Night, "We are what we pretend to be."
Failure is just another step towards success.

--In regards to my Ph.D. dissertation.
The more you know, the more you know you don't know.

--Perhaps a variation on the well known quotation, 'ignorance is bliss.'
People like technology because it makes things easier, which is the very reason I don't.

--Reflecting on how technology has made certain activities obsolete, for example creating a beautiful hand-made piece of furniture rather than buying Ikea crap.
It should be illegal to make laws.

--After cutting yet another check to Uncle Sam after filing my taxes. This quote seemed a little more witty when it first came to me.
