Feb. 1979 Born in Charlotte, NC.
Jun. 1980 Moved to Midland, MI.
Aug. 1985 Enrolled in Kindergarten at Siebert Elementary School.  
May 1988 I got my first generic skateboard, a Valterra Meltdown. I believe my Dad bought it for me at K-Mart for about $30 (complete).
Feb. 1989 Our family got our first personal computer, a Tandy 1000SX.
?? 1990 I got my first professional skateboard, a John Thomas Alva. I got it on sale for $20 or $25 (deck only), spent another $20 on stickers, and yet another $20 on rails, nose bone, and tail bone.
July-Aug. 1991 Went on a month long vacation to Eastern Europe with my brothers, sister, and Dad.
Aug. 1991 Enrolled in 7th grade at Jefferson Intermediate School.  
Feb. 1992 Moved into the new house my Dad and Mom built by themselves (with very little help from us kids) in Larkin Township just outside the city limits of Midland, MI.
May 1992 Awarded first place in a statewide essay contest about recycling.
?? 1992 Started to make fingerboards (tiny skateboard to play with using your fingers) with up-to-date graphics using large paperclips, masking tape, packaging tape, gript tape, and skateboard deck graphics from the California Cheap Skates (CCS) mail order catalog and sold one to almost everyone in my grade at $0.50 each--if only I incorporated before Tech Deck and other companies capitalized on the idea many years later.
July 1993 Won second place in the 2nd Annual Traverse City Cherry Festival Skateboard Competition.
?? ?? Awarded first place in the Midland Daily News ?? ?art? competition.  
Feb. 1993 Awarded first place in the 3D category of the Dow Corning Christmas Card Competition.  
July 1994 Met my favorite skateboarder, Rodney Mullen, at the Drop In Skatepark in New Lenox, IL while he was touring with World Industries.
Aug. 1994 Enrolled in 10th grade at Herbert Henry Dow High School.  
?? ?1995? - June 1996 Worked at Little Caesar's Pizza in Midland, MI.
1996 Wrote my first program for the Texas Instruments TI-85 calculator in the assembly language using ZShell. It was called Kung-Fu, and was a two player fighter game that used the link to join two TI-85s together.
Mar.-June 1997 Worked at West Side Deli in Midland, MI.  
??-?? ?? Started mowing lawns for extra money, average was about $12 for a lawn that took 45 minutes to mow.  
June 1997 Graduated from 12th grade at Herbert Henry Dow High School.
June-Aug. 1997 Drove from Michigan to California with my brother Albert, lived in the Tenderloin and spent 6 weeks skateboarding around San Francisco.
Aug. 1997 Started attending Michigan Technological University to study Electrical Engineering in Houghton, MI.  
?? 1997 Went on my first skydive, thanks to Sonny Thoren, the owner and operator of the best damn drop zone ever, the Relatively North Skydiving Club in Baraga, MI.  
??-?? 1998 Worked during the summer at Fisher Sand and Gravel drilling for potential gravel pits.  
Aug. 1999 - June 2000 Attended San Jose State University in San Jose, CA as an exchange student to study Electrical Engineering for my final undergratuate year.  
Nov. 1999 - May 2000 Worked as a Manufacturing Test Engineer Intern at Cisco Systems, Inc. in Santa Clara, CA.  
May 2000 - Apr. 2002 Worked as a Manufacturing Test Engineer at Cisco Systems, Inc. in San Jose, CA.  
?May? 2000 Voted 'pool shark' of my dorm, Washburn Hall, at San Jose State University.
July-Aug. 2000 Spent the summer living on Potrero Hill in San Francisco with my brother Albert skateboarding around San Francisco.  
Sept. 2000 Moved to Palo Alto, CA to study Electrical Engineering at Stanford University.  
June-Aug. 2002 Worked as a Product Test Engineer Intern at Xilinx, Inc. in San Jose, CA.  
June-Aug. 2003 Worked as a Product Test Engineer Intern at Xilinx, Inc. in San Jose, CA.  
?? ?2004? Started skating on the Environment Team.
June 2004 Graduated from the Center for Reliable Computing at Stanford University with my Ph.D.  
July 2004 Went on a 3-week vacation to Eastern Europe with my brothers and my Dad.
July 2004 Started working at LSI Logic, Inc. in Milpitas, CA.  
Aug 2004 Moved to San Jose, CA.
